چکیده
One important way to teach Computer Science (or almost any discipline) is by getting students involved in projects that interest them. One such area of projects involves the use of computers with music. This paper presents some experiences I have had advising music related computer projects. These experiences show that students are very enthusiastic about music projects, enjoy working hard at them and learn a lot in the process. This paper also serves as an introduction to MIDI, the standard interface for electronic music. It provides enough background so that one may get started advising or doing MIDI projects.
